Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez prepares for a "ferocious fight" from now until the end of the season.

Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has admitted that he expects there to be "a lot of twists and turns" in the final third of the season.

The Latics find themselves in deep relegation trouble once more, sitting in 19th position in the table with 15 league matches to play.

"I know that now people are looking at the table but I don't think it shows the reality of the teams that are involved. There will be a lot of twists and turns from now until the end of the season," Martinez told reporters.

"When you go to the last third of the league season, where you are in the table is just a starting point, but I do believe it is going to be a ferocious fight until the end of the season."

Wigan are joined in the bottom three by Reading and Queens Park Rangers.
