Wigan boss Roberto Martinez reportedly expects on-loan winger Ryo Miyaichi to be out of action for the rest of the season with an ankle injury.

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has reportedly claimed that winger Ryo Miyaichi is likely to be absent for the remainder of the season due to an ankle injury.

The 20-year-old, who signed for the Latics from Arsenal on a loan agreement, picked up the injury during Saturday's FA Cup quarter-final 3-0 win over Everton.

While the results of the scan are yet to be released, Martinez is believed to have taken the Japan international out of his plans for the last few months of the campaign, according to Sky Sports News.

Miyaichi was previously sidelined for three months with a previous ankle issue.
