Roberto Martinez has his FA fine for comments he made after Wigan Athletic's defeat to Manchester United reduced on appeal.

Wigan Athletic manager Roberto Martinez has lost his appeal against an FA charge for inappropriate comments, but has had his fine reduced from £10,000 to £8,000.

The FA took action against the Spaniard following his post-match interview against Manchester United - a game the Latics lost 4-0.

Martinez suggested that the referee showed bias towards the Red Devils.

Despite losing the appeal, the FA reduced his fine due to "new evidence presented to the Appeal Board which was not before the original regulatory commission".

Wigan travel to the Liberty Stadium to face Swansea City tomorrow.
