Emmerson Boyce has apologised to the Wigan Athletic supporters that travelled to Swindon Town for their round three FA Cup tie this afternoon.

Visiting Wigan took the lead at the County Ground but two goals from Alan Connell and Paul Benson sealed the victory for League Two Swindon.

"Like to say thank you [to] the fans that travelled down - sorry we could not get a result for you," the defender wrote on Twitter. "Swindon played well and got a great result."

Wigan are currently 19th in the Premier League.
