Matt Jarvis calls for West Ham United "character"

West Ham midfielder Matt Jarvis calls on his teammates to show some "character" during their final two games of the season.

Matt Jarvis has called on his West Ham United teammates to show some "character" during their final two games of the season.

The Hammers, who have lost their last four matches, need just one point to seal their place in the Premier League for another year.

With the team's future not yet decided, Jarvis believes that the players need to do all that they can to secure their top-flight status.

"We feel strongly that we want to get another point - it's not about if we need another point," Jarvis is quoted as saying by Sky Sports News. "We have to pick up points for ourselves and the fans.

"You have to take the good with the bad. We just need to get a result. We have to show character from everybody in the squad."

West Ham are back in action on Saturday when they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Upton Park.
