West Ham United defender Winston Reid is adamant that Papiss Cisse's effort didn't cross the line during his side's 0-0 draw with Newcastle United.

West Ham United defender Winston Reid is adamant that Papiss Cisse's effort didn't cross the line during his side's 0-0 draw with Newcastle United.

The New Zealand international cleared the ball off the goalline but the striker along with his Magpies teammates claimed that it went over and were incensed by the decision.

"No, it wasn't in, dead honest," Reid told London 24. "Actually my foot was on the line and I got the ball away in time and it was good.

"As a defender you are trying to stop goals and fortunately enough I managed to get it right at the end."

The 24-year-old has made 35 appearances for the Hammers this season in all competitions.
