Stewart Downing praises West Ham United attack

Stewart Downing praises the varied goal threat posed by West Ham United following their 3-0 win over Hull City.

Stewart Downing has claimed that the attacking threat carried by West Ham United's squad is crucial following the 3-0 victory over Hull City.

Goals from Andy Carroll, Morgan Amalfitano and Downing in the second half secured the points after a frustrating first half, and the Hammers winger believes that the team need to continue to share the responsibility in the final third of the pitch.

"I always wanted to get more goals. Sunday was about the team winning but if we can chip in with goals all round the team, it's obviously healthier for us and it gets us further up the league," Downing told West Ham TV.

"I think that's the pleasing thing, we've got goals in and around the team. If it's not Andy, Enner [Valencia] or me, we've got other lads. Diafra [Sakho] was missing on Sunday, so we have to step up. If we all chip in, we finish in a better position. Simple."

The Hammers moved up to seventh with the win, which ended their run of four Premier League games without a win.
