West Ham United winger Stewart Downing has called on his teammates to build on their 3-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

The Hammers picked up their first away victory of the season on Sunday as they brushed aside Spurs at White Hart Lane.

"We just beat a team 3-0 who have spent a lot of money and are arguably aiming for the top four and we deserved the win against a very good team," he told the club's official website. "We've just got to play like that every week."

West Ham return to Premier League action on October 19 when they welcome Manchester City to Upton Park.
