Slaven Bilic: 'West Ham United prepared to park the bus to stop Liverpool'

Slaven Bilic says that West Ham United could "park the bus" during their Premier League match against Liverpool on Saturday.

Slaven Bilic has said that West Ham United could "park the bus" during their Premier League match against Liverpool on Saturday.

The Hammers' defending was criticised after they conceded four goals during their loss to Bournemouth last weekend.

"When we have the ball, we have a plan to keep it and get a breather or, if it's possible, to attack them and harm them with as many players as possible," Bilic told reporters.

"It's a very demanding game that we are asking from the players. If you want to call it parking the bus, call it park the bus. But for me it's defending behind the ball. Or park the bus — a double-decker or triple-decker.

"But that is what you ask from your players when your opponent has the ball. It's a very demanding game against top players, but basically you try to do that [in] every game."

West Ham are currently 11th in the Premier League table.
