Liam Ridgewell eager to secure safety before final day

Liam Ridgewell believes that it is important for West Bromwich Albion to secure their place in the Premier League before the final day.

Liam Ridgewell has claimed that West Bromwich Albion can secure their Premier League status for another year before the final day of the season.

The Baggies are currently 16th, three points above the relegation zone, and Ridgewell believes that it is important to pick up the points they need as quickly as possible.

"I don't think it will come to that and think we will get the points we need," the defender told reporters.

"We don't want it to go to that and we don't want it to go to the final day. We want to try and get it done and dusted before that.

"Everyone who probably thought they were safe has been dragged back into it."

West Brom face Manchester City in their next fixture on Monday night.
