Ben Foster to play on despite fracture

West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster insists that he will continue to play despite suffering a fractured thumb.

West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Ben Foster has revealed that he is hopeful that his fractured thumb won't result in him spending any time on the sidelines.

Foster has been managing the problem since the beginning of the season, but despite it seeing him withdrawn from international duty with England at the start of the month, Foster has continued to play for the Baggies and he is confident that will remain the case.

The 31-year-old is quoted by the Express & Star as saying: "I am managing it pretty well and getting some injections in it to kill the pain, so it's fine.

"It is the way it is and I just have to hope it heals itself. I'm hopeful that it will and the doctors are as well so that's that."

West Brom are yet to register a win in the Premier League this season.
