Saido Berahino: 'Tony Pulis has got us playing as a team'

West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino, who scored the winner against Hull, explains how Tony Pulis has improved the team ethic at the club since his arrival.

Saido Berahino has credited Tony Pulis for instilling a team ethic at West Bromwich Albion since taking over manager.

The Baggies beat Hull City 1-0 on Saturday in Pulis's first Premier League game since in charge, and Berahino explained how the new boss has changed things at The Hawthorns.

The Albion striker told Sky Sports News: "It's very important [to defend well]. In the past we've conceded soft goals and one of [Pulis's] key things he's brought into the team is to make sure we work hard and defend as a team. We have done that today and I'm happy with the three points.

"He's just got us playing as a team you know. He's trying to get us all to mix together and even the boys on the bench have played their part. We're becoming a solid team and we've got to carry on.

"The fans have been brilliant again today and they've had a tough season so far but they've got to be patient because we're trying to play under a new regime."

Victory over their fellow strugglers has taken West Brom to 14th in the division.
