Result: Watford play out pre-season stalemate

Watford play out a goalless draw with German side Chemnitzer on their pre-season tour of Austria.

Watford have been held to a goalless draw by Chemnitzer on their pre-season tour of Austria.

The German outfit looked the better of the two teams early on, though it was Watford who nearly took the lead on 25 minutes when Ikechi Anya hit the post.

The Championship side came close to scoring again midway through the half, but Sean Murray saw his drive blocked.

Manager Giuseppe Sannino made a raft of changes at the break, with Luke O'Nien, Matej Vydra and Fernando Forestieri among those brought off the bench.

Despite a lack of chances during the second period, Alex Jakubiak almost snatched the win for Watford late on when his effort was kept out by the opposition goalkeeper.
