Heurelho Gomes: 'Bournemouth draw a fair result for Watford'

Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes believes that his side's 1-1 draw with Bournemouth was "a fair result" after both sides missed chances to win the match.

Watford goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes has suggested that his side's 1-1 draw with Bournemouth this afternoon was "a fair result".

The Hornets went behind to a Glenn Murray header, before Artur Boruc gifted Odion Ighalo an equaliser on the stroke of half time, and Gomes believes both sides had chances to take something from the game.

Speaking to the club's official website, Gomes said: "I believe it was a fair result. We started the game well in the first 20 minutes, we controlled the game and passed the ball, but after 20 minutes we started to drop and give them opportunities to put the ball into the box, and we conceded the goal that way.

"We were much better in the second-half and we created chances. They had chances to go ahead as well, but fortunately we were able to defend those.

"In the dressing at half time we said to each other that we needed to lift up a bit and we did. We created chances in the second-half and we almost scored on other occasions as well."

Watford will take on Arsenal in their next Premier League fixture on October 17.
