Half-Time Report: Watford in control against Blackpool

Watford are leading Blackpool 3-0 at half time with goals from Mathias Ranegie and Troy Deeney.

Watford have a comfortable 3-0 lead against Blackpool at half time in their match at Vicarage Road.

The hosts forced their opponents back in the early stages, with Troy Deeney a constant threat.

The striker held off the attention of Kirk Broadfoot to get a shot away at the near-post, but it was a comfortable stop for Matthew Gilks.

Deeney then had an even better chance but, after Lloyd Doyley had done well to find his teammate, he turned and fired just wide.

However, the Hornets did manage to break the deadlock with 15 minutes played. Daniel Tozser floated in a corner and forward Mathias Ranegie thumped his header past Gilks.

The first real opportunity for Blackpool came with over 20 minutes played, but Ricardo Fuller powered a long-range effort over the bar.

Their lack of attacking threat cost them with 10 minutes left in the first half. A neat one-two saw Deeney fire past Gilks with the aid of a deflection to make it 2-0.

It soon got worse, however, as Watford grabbed their third of the afternoon. Ranegie won possession from Gary MacKenzie, exchanged passes with Christian Battocchio and then finished with ease.
