As Wales and Scotland prepare to go head to head in their World Cup qualifier, Sports Mole previews this evening's clash.

Wales and Scotland go head to head in their 2014 World Cup qualifier tonight with both sides desperate to pick up the points in their group.

Chris Coleman's Welshmen have had a torrid run up to this evening's bout after failing to win a single game in their qualifying group, while the Scots currently sit fourth in the standings with two points.

Swansea City defender Ashley Williams will don the captain's armband after taking the role from Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey, while Tottenham Hotspur's Gareth Bale faces a late fitness test.

Adam Matthews recently suffered a knock but could win his race to be fit to feature in the starting XI, while Sam Vokes could be handed a place up top.

Craig Levein welcomes Sunderland striker Steven Fletcher back into the fold after successful clear-the-air talks earlier this month but the former Wolverhampton Wanderers forward is likely to be handed a spot on the bench.

Manchester United midfielder Darren Fletcher is likely to be given a starting place after returning to the field last month, despite dealing with a chronic bowel condition.

Current form:

Wales: LLLLL
Scotland: DLWDD

Possible lineups:

Wales: Brown; Matthews, Williams, Nyatanga, Gunter; Allen, Ledley, Ramsey, Bale; Morison, Vokes

Scotland: McGregor; Hutton, Caldwell, Berra, Mulgrew; Morrison, D Fletcher, Adam, Commons; Brown; Miller

Sports Mole says: 1-1
