Wales Under-21s, Denmark Under-21s share goalless draw

Wales Under-21s remain unbeaten in their qualifying campaign for the 2017 European Under-21 Championship after sharing a goalless draw with Denmark Under-21s.

Wales Under-21s have maintained their unbeaten start to qualifying for the 2017 Under-21 European Championships after sharing a goalless draw with Denmark Under-21s in Aaland.

Wales came into the fixture looking to extend their 100% start to the campaign, having beaten Bulgaria and Luxembourg in their opening fixtures.

Denmark were in action for the first time in the qualifying campaign, having started their fixtures later than their Group 5 rivals because of their involvement in this summer's Under-21 championship.

It was the home side who enjoyed the majority of the early possession, with Andrew Hjulsager seeing an early shot blocked, while Marcus Ingvartsen and Christian Norgaard both blasted the ball wide.

Wales started to see more of the ball as half time approached but Jeppe Hojbjerg pulled off saves to deny Ellis Harrison and Ryan Hedges to keep the sides level at the break.

Billy O'Brien did not have to make a save until after the hour mark when Kenneth Zohore came off the bench for Denmark, quickly sprinting into the box to try to tap in from a through-ball, but the keeper made a comfortable save.

Both sides had chances to secure the win in the final minutes, with Zohore forcing another stop from the Wales keeper after O'Sullivan was denied twice from corners down the other end.
