Carlos Tevez gave the visitors the lead in the fourth minute of the match when he followed up Kwadwo Asamoah's blocked effort to slot in to the net from close range.

Juventus were in firm command and scored a second midway through the half. Tevez was slipped into the box by Paul Pogba and drilled a low strike into the bottom corner past Rafael.

The Argentine came close to completing his hat-trick before the break when he picked up the ball in acres of space inside the box, but hammered a strike high over the bar.

Within moments of the restart, Pogba looked to extend his side's lead, but saw his volley saved by the keeper.

In the 52nd minute Verona pulled a goal back through Luca Toni, who met Romulo's free kick to head past Gianluigi Buffon at his near post.

Pablo Osvaldo almost scored within a minute of entering the pitch, but after being slipped into the area, he saw his shot hit the post before heading wide.

The visitors came close to scoring a second when Toni poked a loose ball towards goal following a free kick, but Buffon was at full stretch to turn his attempt wide.

In the fourth minute of stoppage time Verona eqaulised as Juanito headed in Romulo's cross from the right wing to earn his side a point.
