Daniel Parejo extends Valencia contract

Daniel Parejo commits his future to Valencia by signing a new four-year contract with the Spanish club.

Valencia captain Daniel Parejo has signed a new four-year deal with the La Liga giants.

The 26-year-old joined the club in 2011 from Getafe and quickly established himself as a key player.

He enjoyed his most prolific season at Valencia last term, scoring 12 league goals to help them to qualify for the Champions League.

"This is one of the happiest days of my life," he told the club's official website. "This was what I wanted. Everybody knew this and I was always confident that we would reach an agreement.

"I have always said that there is no other club at which I could be happier. I feel very happy and I identify strongly with Valencianismo; all that remains is to thank the club and the fans for their faith in me."

Parejo has played for Spain at youth level, but he has never made an appearance for the senior national side.
