Valencia left-back Juan Bernat says that he is happy with his form this season.

Valencia left-back Juan Bernat has revealed that he has been pleased with his start to the season.

However, he has also admitted that the former Spanish champions have had "a lot of difficulties" in the early part of their La Liga campaign.

A total of 20 points from their 15 matches has left the club in ninth position in the table, some nine points off the top four.

"We've had a lot of difficulties, we've suffered a lot, but now we have to take advantage and enjoy things. This season I'm playing a lot, I'm happy with myself, both as a full-back or a winger and I feel very comfortable playing in either role," he told the club's official website.

A number of European clubs are believed to be monitoring Bernat's development.
