Clubs in England and across Europe are busy working on deals as they aim to get their squads in order before the new season kicks off.

Plenty of transfers have gone through already and, with less than two months to go until the transfer window shuts, many more are expected over the coming weeks.

If any big moves happen today, we will let you know, and we will keep you up to speed with all the latest activity in the transfer world.

Good morning all! Will there be a busy day of transfer activity to come? One of the biggest stories from overnight concerns Toby Alderweireld and his protracted move to Tottenham Hotspur. According to a newspaper report, an £11.4m switch for the Belgian defender will go through, as soon as an ongoing legal dispute involving Southampton and Atletico Madrid has been resolved.

Staying in London for the time being, it appears that Crystal Palace are on the verge of smashing their record transfer fee to sign Yohan Cabaye from Paris Saint-Germain. The France international has history with Palace boss Alan Pardew of course, having worked under him at former club Newcastle United. The Eagles have reportedly agreed a £12.8m fee for the midfielder.

Angel di Maria has been linked with a move away from Manchester United for some time. Bayern Munich and Barcelona have been tipped as potential destinations, but what about Arsenal? The Gunners are reportedly interested in doing a shock deal for the Argentina international.

They may not have a manager at the moment, but it appears that Leicester City are busy in the transfer market. The Foxes are said to have agreed a deal with Caen for their midfielder N'Golo Kante. Read more on that story here.

Liverpool have been one of the busiest clubs in the transfer window so far. They've added six new faces to the squad and if reports in France are to be believed, they are still considering a move for Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette. The report claims that the Frenchman could submit a transfer request before the season begins in August.

You may have heard that Roma have reportedly opened talks with Manchester City regarding the availability of striker Edin Dzeko. Now, according to The Times, the former Premier League champions have told the Italian side that they will only consider selling the Bosnian forward if they receive a £20m offer.

Let's bring you some news from further afield in Spain. According to local reports, Real Madrid are close to signing Espanyol goalkeeper Kiko Casilla, while Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho is believed to be a target for the Spanish giants.

Manchester United fans, you may be interested to know where Robin van Persie's future lies? Well, according to Sky Sports News, Turkish side Fenerbahce are confident of signing the Dutch striker, who struggled for form at Old Trafford last season.

Derby County have been one of the busiest Championship sides in the market this summer and it appears that they haven't finished yet. According to a newspaper report, the Rams are now looking at Ipswich Town frontman David McGoldrick.

Staying in the Championship, where Leeds United are in the hunt for one of the Football League's standout performers from last season. The Whites are interested in signing Shrewsbury Town defender Connor Goldson, according to their chief executive Matt Williams. The 22-year-old won Salop's Player of the Year award last term.

Ipswich Town striker Daryl Murphy caught the eye after scoring 27 goals for the Tractor Boys last season. Middlesbrough are thought to be keen on the Irishman, but Ipswich have reportedly told their Championship rivals that they will accept nothing less than £5m for him.

Over to Italy now, where AC Milan defender Philippe Mexes has put speculation over his future to bed by signing a new one-year deal at the San Siro. More here.

Manchester United defender Jonny Evans has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford after struggling to hold down a regular first-team spot under Louis van Gaal last season. According to the Daily Mail, West Bromwich Albion head coach Tony Pulis is keen to sign the Northern Ireland international.

Sporting Lisbon have reportedly inserted a £43m buyout clause in Bryan Ruiz's contract following his transfer from Fulham. The Costa Rica international has moved to the Portguese side on a three-year contract from Craven Cottage.

New Inter Milan defender Martin Montoya has conceded that it was tough for him to leave Barcelona. The 24-year-old rose through the ranks at Camp Nou, but in recent months he had found it difficult to break into Luis Enrique's starting lineup on a regular basis.

Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka has admitted that Patrick Bamford is unlikely to return to the club next season. The 21-year-old striker scored 19 goals while on loan at the Riverside Stadium from Chelsea last term.

Stoke City have reportedly accepted a £7m bid from Sevilla for midfielder Steven N'Zonzi. The 26-year-old played in every Premier League match for the Potters last season, but he has since been linked with a move away from the Britannia.

Didier Drogba has reportedly opened up negotiations with Porto. The 37-year-old was made a free agent earlier this summer by Chelsea, who declined the chance to extend the striker's contract at Stamford Bridge.

Dick Advocaat has conceded that he would like to make three or four more additions to his squad this summer. The Black Cats boss has already secured the services of Sebastian Coates and Adam Matthews from Liverpool and Celtic respectively.

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has reportedly ruled out sending midfielder Arda Turan on loan until January. The 28-year-old completed his move to the Catalan giants from Atletico Madrid on Monday for an initial £24.1m fee.

Stoke City have reportedly hijacked Middlesbrough's hopes of signing veteran goalkeeper Shay Given from Aston Villa. Given, 39, is thought to be available on a free transfer this summer and Boro were believed to be on the verge of securing his services.
