Good morning everyone! Another day, another merry-go-round of transfer stories. We're entering the second week of the summer window, so will we see a big-money move completed? A number of high-profile stars including David de Gea, Raheem Sterling, Sergio Ramos and Paul Pogba have dominated the transfer talk so far, but all four remain at their respective clubs... for now. We could be in for a busy day, so sit tight and stick around for all of the latest developments.

One big headline that has emerged in the early hours involves Liverpool and it comes from The Express. It reports that the Merseyside outfit will trigger Christian Benteke's £32.5m buyout clause this week. It is believed that the Aston Villa striker would prefer a move to Anfield rather than Tottenham Hotspur, who have also been linked to the Belgian's signature.

There's potentially a busy day ahead, but let's remind ourselves of the stories that emerged overnight in our Transfer Talk 8am update.

Toby Alderweireld's future has become a talking point in the last few days. The Belgian played for Southampton last season on loan from Atletico Madrid, but it appears as though the defender is on the verge of signing for Tottenham Hotspur. According to reports, the 26-year-old will have a medical in London today despite claims that the Saints are considering taking legal action over a clause in their loan agreement with Atletico.

Morgan Schneiderlin has been linked with a move away from Southampton throughout the summer. One of the clubs linked with the midfielder is Manchester United and, according to their former goalkeeper Mark Bosnich, a deal for the Frenchman has already been agreed.

Some news from the Championship now, where two sides are said to be looking at former Newcastle United midfielder Ryan Taylor. According to a newspaper report, Nottingham Forest and Bolton Wanderers are looking to sign the 30-year-old, who was released by Newcastle at the end of last season.

Norwich City have been linked with several players ahead of their return to the Premier League. One of those is Hull City winger Robbie Brady, but a report has suggested that the Canaries are stalling on a deal for the 23-year-old because of Hull's asking price. Read more on this story here.

Chelsea midfielder Josh McEachran has been on the move regularly in recent transfer windows, having been loaned out no less than five times in the past three seasons. The 22-year-old could be about to settle at a new club permanently, though, with Brenford reportedly close to signing him on a four-year contract.

Former Manchester City manager Joe Royle has insisted that reported Sky Blues target Paul Pogba is not worth £70m. It has been suggested that City are preparing a bid in the region of £70m for the Juventus midfielder.

BREAKING! Watford have announced the signing of Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Etienne Capoue for a 'club-record fee'. The Frenchman, 26, has penned a four-year contract with the Premier League newcomers.

Sampdoria sporting director Carlo Osti has claimed that the club is close to signing Inter Milan defender Matias Silvestre. The 30-year-old made 29 appearances for the Blucerchiati while on loan at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris last season.

Burnley have confirmed that they have agreed to sign striker Jelle Vossen from Racing Club Genk. The 26-year-old will join the Clarets on a three-year deal for an undisclosed fee once he has agreed contractual terms and passed a medical.

Midfielder Jack Price has agreed a new contract with Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 22-year-old academy graduate had just 12 months left to run on his previous deal at Molineux.

BREAKING! Fenerbahce have confirmed that they have signed winger Nani from Manchester United. The Portuguese international, who is understood to have cost around £4.25m, underwent a medical with the Turkish side over the weekend.

Leeds United are reportedly looking at Stoke City midfielder Steve Sidwell. The 32-year-old has been linked with a move away from the Britannia Stadium after making just 12 Premier League appearances last season.

Saint-Etienne winger Max Gradel has suggested that he would be open to a move away from the club. The 27-year-old has been linked with a return to Premier League newcomers Bournemouth, having previously played for the Cherries in the 2007-08 season on loan from Leicester City.

More Man United news, this time involving reported target Matteo Darmian. Speculation has suggested that Louis van Gaal is keen on the right-back and his club, Torino, have now claimed that three bids have been received for the 25-year-old. However, president Urbano Cairo has refused to reveal which clubs have put their money on the table.

We have some news on Morgan Schneiderlin's future (sort of) from Southampton manager Ronald Koeman. The Dutchman has been speaking to the media at a press conference ahead of the club's pre-season schedule. Koeman reiterated that Manchester United failed with their first bid, which was rumoured to be £20m, but the coach has admitted that he wants a final decision on the midfielder's future made sooner rather than later.

BREAKING NEWS! Juventus confirm that Andrea Pirlo has agreed to join MLS side New York City FC following a four-year spell in Turin. More here.

A little closer to home, Swansea City youngster Kenji Gorre has signed a new three-year deal, while over in Spain, Barcelona defender Marc Bartra has ruled out a move away from the Camp Nou as he wants to fight for his place in the team.

We've got some news from the Championship as Fulham trio Liam Donnelly, Jordan Evans and Dean O'Halloran have signed new deals. Meanwhile, reports in Italy have claimed that Sevilla are considering a £5.7m bid for Juventus right-back Mauricio Isla.

Down another step in League One, Colchester United have completed their fourth summer signing in the form of Joe Edwards, who moves to Essex on a free transfer following a four-year spell with Yeovil Town.

Back to the wonderfully-bearded Pirlo, who has been speaking about his switch to the Big Apple. Find out what the veteran midfielder has had to say here.

Southampton boss Ronald Koeman has already given an update on the future of Morgan Schneiderlin today, and he has now revealed that a deal is "close" to being completed for a new face in defence. FC Twente's Cuco Martina looks set to join in the coming days, as a direct replacement for the injured Ryan Bertrand.

Juventus midfield duo Arturo Vidal and Paul Pogba have been linked with their fair share of clubs so far this summer, but director Giuseppe Marotta has insisted that neither player is for sale. That's that, then.

DONE DEAL! A couple of updates to bring you from the Football League now, starting with a new arrival at Middlesbrough where former Bolton Wanderers defender Alex Baptiste has agreed to sign a three-year deal at the Riverside. Elsewhere, Swansea City have loaned Adam King out to League One side Crewe Alexandra until the New Year.

It's 7pm, which means that it's time for our evening Transfer Talk Update. Catch up on all the day's goings-on by clicking right here.

DONE DEAL! Newport Town have completed the signing of experienced defender Matt Taylor from Cheltenham Town on a one-year deal.

DONE DEALS! Notts County have now made eight signings this summer, as they add ex-Newcastle United striker Adam Campbell and former Crystal Palace academy midfielder Kyle De Silva to their ranks. Earlier today they also signed Dutch winger Genaro Snijders from FC Oss.

DONE DEAL! Another confirmed signing this evening as Wigan Athletic snap up Sanmi Odelusi from neighbours Bolton Wanderers for an undisclosed fee.

DONE DEAL! And it's a major one as Atletico Madrid playmaker Arda Turan, long purported to be a target for Chelsea and Manchester United, has decided to remain in Spain and sign for Barcelona.

Good news for Spurs fans - Nabil Bentaleb, a revelation for the club last season, has put pen to paper on a new five-year deal at White Hart Lane.

Belgian goalkeeper Logan Bailly is on his way to Celtic, according to his club OH Leuven. The 29-year-old, who has eight caps for his country, would command a transfer fee as he is still under contract with the Pro League club.

DONE DEAL! Former Crawley Town captain Josh Simpson has turned down a contract extension at Broadfield Stadium and has opted to sign for Plymouth Argyle instead.

Some speculation now coming from Cardiff as Newcastle United winger Sammy Ameobi is rumoured to be heading down to the Welsh capital and join Cardiff City on loan after extending his deal at his parent club.

The Sergio Ramos transfer saga continues to rumble on, but if the latest reports are anything to go by, the Real Madrid defender is supposedly on the verge of signing for Manchester United.

Meanwhile, just 18 miles up the M61 and M60, 25 minutes away (or 24 minutes without traffic)*, Bolton Wanderers have gone one better than the chaps in red and actually got a Real Madrid defender** to put pen to paper on a deal in the English game.

* I totally did not just look that up on a popular map website.
** Not Sergio Ramos.

Now for some more speculation in the top flight... Tottenham Hotspur and England winger Andros Townsend is reportedly on the radar of West Ham United.

Reports are surfacing this evening that Mikel Arteta has finally signed a new one-year contract to stay at Arsenal. That could mean the Gunners' hunt for a new midfielder is over.

Across North London, and Tottenham Hotspur could be set to offer £20m to Everton for midfielder James McCarthy, with Aaron Lennon heading to Goodison Park as part of that deal.

While the saga surrounding Asmir Begovic's transfer to either Chelsea or Manchester United continues, Stoke City have turned their attentions towards finding a replacement. That man could be former Wigan Athletic keeper Ali Al-Habsi.

That's it from the transfer blog for today, but we'll be back bright and early in the morning for some more transfer news. See you then!
