Hello and welcome to Sports Mole's daily Transfer Talk blog. We'll start by bringing you up to date with the main transfer headlines this morning.

Aruto Vidal rules out Manchester United move

Manchester City accidentally confirm Eliaquim Mangala capture

Jose Mourinho fuels Didier Drogba return rumours

News has emerged this morning that Barcelona have reportedly launched a £16m bid for Thomas Vermaelen. The Belgian centre-back, who has been at Arsenal since 2009, is also said to be a target for Manchester United. This one looks set to go on for a little while longer yet...

One deal that looks close to going through is that of Dundee United defender Andrew Robertson. Hull City have reportedly had a £3m bid accepted for the youngster, just days after Steve Bruce's opening offer was rejected.

Out-of-favour Chelsea Winger Marko Marin could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge, after Besiktas's president confirmed that talks between the two parties are currently ongoing. Demba Ba made the move from West London to Turkey earlier this summer.

This one's for Tottenham Hotspur supporters, as we run down three players we believe the club should sign this summer. Click here to read the feature.

Not the busiest morning in terms of confirmed transfers, but there's news coming through of Cardiff City having a second bid for Southampton defender Jose Fonte turned down. The 30-year-old is clearly wanted in South Wales, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will reportedly return with an improved third offer.

A longer read for you now, and it focuses on the Bundesliga. Our reporter Matt Domm has rounded up all the latest goings on in Germany - could Juan Cuadrado be making the move to Bayern Munich? Find out right here.

One player who starred at the World Cup, Mathieu Valbuena, has today been linked with a move to Queens Park Rangers. Arsenal and Liverpool have also been touted with a move for the attacking midfielder this summer.

That's all from me this morning, folks. Darren Plant is now on hand to take you through the next three hours.

Hi everyone! It's been a quiet morning on the transfer front, but who knows, it might hot up during the afternoon. That could be the case at West Bromwich Albion, who are reportedly close to securing a double defensive deal. Cristian Gamboa, who helped Costa Rica reach the World Cup quarter-finals, and Australian left-back Jason Davidson are said to be on the brink of moving to The Hawthorns.

As usual, we have rounded up all of the transfer news that has been doing the rounds throughout the morning. You can catch up with what has transpired by clicking here.

Some news involving Chelsea and Sunderland now. According to reports in the North-East, Chelsea defender Patrick van Aanholt is close to securing a move to Sunderland. The 23-year-old has been with the Blues since 2007, but he has only made eight first-team appearances at Stamford Bridge.

Millwall have already been busy in the transfer market during the summer, and earlier today, they added another name to their growing squad. The Championship outfit have handed a one-year deal to former Everton striker Magaye Gueye, who departed Goodison Park earlier this summer.

Reports have suggested over the past few days that Chelsea are in talks with Didier Drogba over a potential return to Stamford Bridge, and the striker himself has seemingly indicated that he is close to making a decision on his future. The 36-year-old has taken to Twitter to confirm his departure from Galatasaray, telling the club that he is "proud" of their achievements together.

Liverpool have already made four major signings during the summer transfer window, but if reports are to be believed, they could soon be making a few more. The latest speculation has linked the Merseyside club with Benfica winger Nicolas Gaitan, with a bid in the region of £30m said to be in the offing.

On that note, I will pass you over to Alex Meyers, who will take you through the next four hours.

Thanks Darren. I'll begin with the latest news from Italy, that Roberto Pereyra has joined Juventus on loan from Udinese. The 23-year-old will have the chance to make the move permanent at the end of the season if he impresses for the current Italian champions.

Mario Balotelli has been linked with a move to Arsenal all summer and new reports have suggested that AC Milan have offered him to the Gunners in exchange for Joel Campbell.

Fiorentina have completed the signing of Argentina international Jose Maria Basanta from Monterrey. The 30-year-old defender made two appearances for his country at this summer's World Cup and is believed to have cost the Italian club £1.98m.

BREAKING NEWS: Some big transfer news just in concerning Chelsea, who have re-signed Didier Drogba. The 36-year-old played for the Blues for eight seasons and scored the winning penalty in a shootout against Bayern Munich in the 2012 Champions League final.

Liverpool are reportedly on the verge of signing Southampton defender Dejan Lovren. It is believed that the two clubs have agreed on a fee in the region of £20m, with the Croatian international set to undergo a medical this weekend.

Roma are reportedly close to completing the signing of DeAndre Yedlin. The 21-year-old made three appearances for the USA in this summer's World Cup and plays his club football for Seattle Sounders.

Benfica have completed the signing of Bebe from Manchester United. The 24-year-old made just seven appearances for the Reds and has penned a four-year contract with the Portuguese champions.

Well, that's all from me for now. I'll be back at 11 to bring you more transfer news and gossip, but I will now leave you in hands of Joe Fish to take you through the news few hours!

DONE DEAL! News of a signing for Sunderland, and Gus Poyet's search for a left-back appears to be over. They have confirmed the arrival of Netherlands international Patrick van Aanholt, 23, from Chelsea on a four-year contract, for an undisclosed fee. The Black Cats have been short in that position since losing Marcos Alonso, Phil Bardsley and Andrea Dossena at the end of last season.

Leyton Orient are close to pulling off somewhat of a coup, having agreed terms with Jobi McAnuff. They will sign the 32-year-old midfielder, who was released by Reading earlier this summer having made over 200 appearances during his five years with the Royals, if he passes a medical.

DONE DEAL! Another one signed, sealed and delivered this Friday evening is Frazier Campbell to Crystal Palace. The 26-year-old striker, who had also interested Premier League new boys Leicester City, leaves Cardiff City to pen a three-year contract to play under Tony Pulis at Selhurst Park.

One move that doesn't appear as if it will go through is the proposed loan move of David Davis to Barnsley. The 23-year-old Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder, who only has one year left on his Molineux contract, has failed to agree personal terms at the League One outfit.

Dejan Lovren's imminent move to Liverpool is second only to Didier Drogba's emotional Chelsea return in terms of stories of the day. Southampton coped okay without him in their pre-season friendly against Bournemouth, though, with Lloyd Isgrove firing them to a 1-0 victory at Dean Court.

Lovren is expected to follow former Saints teammate Adam Lallana to Anfield, but the England international has suffered an injury on Liverpool's pre-season tour in America and will miss the start of the season. The Reds face £23.6m signing Lallana's former club Southampton on the opening weekend.

It's been a quiet few hours in the transfer market but I am sure things will pick up as Alex Meyers takes you through to 2am with the latest done deals and speculation from across Europe.

Thanks Joe! Let's start with the news that Queens Park Rangers have recalled goalkeeper Julio Cesar from his loan spell at Toronto. The Brazilian international made seven appearances for the MLS side after joining in February.

Arsenal have reportedly agreed a fee with Southampton for the transfer of Calum Chambers. The 19-year-old is believed to be a target of the Gunners and he will apparently cost the club £7m.

Over in Italy, Juventus are reportedly on the verge of signing Hellas Verona midfielder Romulo. He is expected to join the Italian champions on loan, with an option to make the move permanent for €7m (£5.54m).

More news concerning Arsenal and Southampton now, and the two clubs have reportedly started talks over the transfer of Morgan Schneiderlin.

AC Milan chief executive officer Adriano Galliani has said that Mario Balotelli will not be sold by the club this summer.

That's all we've got time for from our live transfer coverage today. Please make sure you return for more of the latest news on this summer's completed deals and rumours tomorrow. Until next time, goodbye!
