With Manchester City already having completed the biggest deal of the window so far, a £49m move for Raheem Sterling, they have grabbed the headlines again overnight. Southampton have reportedly made a bid in the region of £8m for Celtic defender Virgil van Dijk. The centre-back, who joined the Scottish champions from Dutch side Groningen in 2013, has also been linked with moves to Manchester United and Arsenal this summer.
Tottenham Hotspur forward Roberto Soldado is reportedly on the verge of joining Villarreal. The 30-year-old moved to Spurs two years ago from Valencia, but he has struggled for playing time and has managed just 16 goals for the club.
