Sydney FC: 'Alessandro Del Piero will not leave the club'

Alessandro Del Piero is staying at Sydney FC, insists the club's chief executive.

Alessandro Del Piero will not be leaving Sydney FC, according to the club's chief executive Tony Pignata.

There have reportedly been suggestions that the former Juventus player, 39, is unhappy at the club and is seeking a way out.

However, Pignata has now denied the claims and says that Del Piero is going nowhere.

"Alessandro will be here in January and he'll be here for the rest of the season," he told Fairfax Media.

Del Piero has been with the club since last September.
