Swansea City midfielder Jonjo Shelvey is reportedly expected to be sidelined for the South Wales derby against Cardiff City on Saturday due to a hamstring injury.

Swansea City are reportedly preparing to be without midfielder Jonjo Shelvey for the South Wales derby against Cardiff City on Saturday.

The former Liverpool player aggravated a hamstring injury during last weekend's 2-0 defeat to West Ham United at Upton Park.

The Swans are yet to discover the extent of Shelvey's problem, but he will not be fit to feature against the club's fierce rivals, according to the South Wales Evening Post.

However, it is believed that Michu, Jose Canas and goalkeeper Michel Vorm could return for the encounter at the Liberty Stadium.
