Angel Rangel: 'Draw was fair result'

Swansea City defender Angel Rangel believes that the side's draw with Everton was a fair result.

Angel Rangel has insisted that Swansea City deserved to draw with Everton in their Premier League match at the Liberty Stadium this afternoon.

Jonjo Shelvey equalised from the penalty spot after Aaron Lennon had given the visitors the lead shortly before half time, ensuring that the sides finished level.

The defender told the club's website: "It was a fair result. We started on the front foot and were in control for the first half an hour.

"We created a couple of half chances, but they used their experience and found a goal, which we were a bit disappointed with. We pushed forward in the second half and deserved our goal, but it was an even game, I think a point is good and fair.

"We wanted to make history and break the 47-point mark, but it was a difficult game against an experienced side. Overall, I think we can be happy with the second-half performance. We have six games to go and a lot of points to play for. Hopefully we can get a few more points and make some more history."

The result leaves Swansea on 47 points, matching their highest ever points total in the Premier League with six matches still to play.
