Garry Monk: 'Bafetimbi Gomis will score more goals'

Swansea manager Garry Monk believes that striker Bafetimbi Gomis will continue his current goalscoring run.

Garry Monk has backed Bafetimbi Gomis to continue has current goalscoring run for Swansea City for the rest of the season.

The French striker scored twice during the team's 3-1 win over Hull City in the Premier League yesterday, leaving him with three goals from his last two outings for the club.

The manager told BBC Sport: "I can only see more goals for Bafe coming. This is the reason why I brought him in, he can score goals in the Premier League.

"Goals always breed confidence in strikers. I had no problem at all even when he wasn't scoring at the start of the season. He has the quality, which I knew all along. It's really pleasing to see him score these goals.

"He's played in the Champions League and scored 20-plus goals nearly every season in his career. He's a top class striker and he scores different types of goals. I think you saw that from his finishes [against Hull] and the finishes he's done before."

Gomis has scored eight goals in all competitions since joining Swansea in the summer.
