Referee Robert Madley dropped from Premier League games this weekend

Robert Madley is not given a Premier League game to officiate this weekend after awarding a contentious penalty in the dying moments for Stoke City at Swansea City.

Referee Robert Madley has not been given a Premier League game to officiate this weekend after he awarded a contentious penalty in the last round of fixtures.

Madley pointed to the spot for a Stoke City penalty after deeming that Wayne Routledge had handled the ball in the dying moments against Swansea City, giving Charlie Adam the opportunity to make it 3-3.

The decision angered Swans manager Michael Laudrup, who described the decision as "frustrating" and "incredible".

Meanwhile, Andre Marriner, the official who awarded a soft penalty late on to Chelsea against West Bromwich Albion, has been given the Fulham-Swansea match this Saturday.
