Michael Laudrup thinks that new signing Ki Sung-Yueng will get better as he settles into life at Swansea.

Michael Laudrup is confident that Ki Sung-Yueng will be a success at Swansea City, after seeing his new signing in action for the first time.

Ki featured as the Swans beat Barnsley in the League Cup, after receiving clearance to play just hours before.

Laudrup thinks that the £6m signing from Celtic did well despite a hectic few days.

"I thought it did quite well and it was obviously very difficult for him," said Laudrup.

"He has only been training here a couple of days and we had to wait until 2.30pm to get the go-ahead that he could play."

The Dane also suggested that Ki will improve as he adapts to life in South Wales.

He continued: "It was difficult, we had Jonathan De Guzman and Kemy Agustien in a midfield three with him, those three have never played together before.

"Once you start to get to know each other, things will move more fluidly and he needs to be given time.

"It's the same for Kyle Bartley, it is important for them to train with the rest of the squad and once you know your team mates more, things will get better."

Swansea have had a great start to the season, winning both their matches and conceding no goals.

They will play Sunderland at home in their next game, on Saturday at 3pm.
