Swansea City midfielder Nathan Dyer admits that his side are hoping to catch Manchester United "cold" during their Premier League opener on Saturday.

Swansea City midfielder Nathan Dyer has insisted that playing Manchester United is the perfect opening-day fixture for the club.

The Swans host United at the Liberty Stadium on Saturday evening, and Dyer is hoping that he and his teammates can cause a surprise against the Premier League champions.

The 25-year-old told the South Wales Evening Post: "It doesn't get any better than Manchester United on the opening day of the season.

"I think that it's a good time to play them — we want to try to catch them cold if we can.

"When you play one of the top teams midway through the season and they are flowing well, it makes it even tougher for you."

Swansea ended last season in ninth position in the Premier League table.
