Leon Britton eager to break Manchester United duck

Swansea City midfielder Leon Britton admits that the club are eager to secure their first victory over Manchester United in the Premier League.

Swansea City midfielder Leon Britton has insisted that the club have taken encouragement from their previous performances against Manchester United, despite never recording a victory.

The Swans have failed in four attempts since their arrival in the Premier League, but Britton has revealed that he and his teammates are confident of changing that on Saturday evening.

The 30-year-old told the South Wales Evening Post: "We haven't beaten them yet, but we've always competed — the games have not been 4-0 or 5-0. They've been tight, especially at our stadium.

"Winning will be a target for us because we've beaten other top teams. It would be nice to tick them off the list. If you talk to other players in the Premier League, they don't like coming to Swansea.

"We're very strong at home and I think that we've shown that against Manchester United in the last few years. We drew 1-1 and lost 1-0 before that. Both games could have gone either way."

Britton has missed just seven Premier League games in two years for the Liberty Stadium outfit.
