A report claims that Sunderland are closing in on the signings of Jordan Mutch and Marcos Alonso.

Sunderland are reportedly eager to secure deals for both Jordan Mutch and Marcos Alonso.

The Black Cats have been linked for some time with Cardiff City midfielder Mutch, who is believed to be keen to remain in the Premier League following his side's relegation to the Championship last season.

Left-back Alonso spent six months on loan at the Stadium of Light last term before returning to his parent club Fiorentina.

However, the Spaniard could soon be back on Wearside alongside Mutch, with talks for the recruitment of the pair at an advanced stage, according to the Daily Mail.

The report adds that both West Ham United and Swansea City have also shown an interest in Alonso.
