Report: Connor Wickham heading back to Sheffield Wednesday

Reports suggest that Sheffield Wednesday are about to re-sign Sunderland striker Connor Wickham on loan.

Sunderland striker Connor Wickham has reportedly re-joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan.

The 20-year-old scored one goal in six games during a loan spell with the Owls last season, and has started just one game for the Black Cats this term.

According to The Mirror, the Yorkshire outfit, who sit bottom of the Championship, have beaten Burnley to his signature.

The England Under-21 international moved to the Stadium of Light from Ipswich Town for £8m in 2011.
