Charis Mavrias makes Sunderland loan exit

Young Greek midfielder Charis Mavrias leaves Sunderland to join Fortuna Dusseldorf on loan.

Sunderland midfielder Charis Mavrias has left the club to join Fortuna Dusseldorf on loan.

The 21-year-old moves to the 2. Bundesliga side for the rest of the season.

Mavrias has not been in the Black Cats' Premier League matchday squad once this season and leaves on a similar deal to one last January when he returned to former club Panathinaikos on loan.

The Greece international still has 18 months left on his Sunderland contract.
