A report says that Gus Poyet has no plans to let Craig Gardner leave Sunderland.

Sunderland reportedly have no intention of parting with Craig Gardner before tonight's 11pm deadline.

It had been reported that West Bromwich Albion were keen to sign the midfielder, while Queens Park Rangers were also said to be monitoring his situation.

However, manager Gus Poyet is eager for the 27-year-old to remain at the Stadium of Light, according to BBC Sport.

Gardner has made 18 appearances in all competitions for the Black Cats so far this season.
