Team News: Calum Chambers returns for Southampton

Calum Chambers recovers from illness to start for Southampton in their Premier League encounter with Sunderland.

Calum Chambers has returned to the Southampton starting lineup for their visit to Sunderland in the Premier League after recovering from illness, with Nathaniel Clyne dropping to the bench.

Saints boss Mauricio Pochettino, whose future at the club was the subject of intense speculation after the departure of chairman Nicola Cortese this week, is still without the injured Victor Wanyama and forward Pablo Osvaldo, who is suspended.

Meanwhile, Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has made two changes to the side that won 4-1 at Fulham last Saturday, with Sebastian Larsson coming in to the side for Jack Colback and Jozy Altidore replaces Steven Fletcher.

Carlos Cuellar is unable to return to action for the Black Cats as the defender continues his recovery from a thigh problem.

The Wearsiders recorded a 2-0 win over Southampton in the League Cup at the Stadium of Light earlier this season.

However, their last home league win over the Hampshire club came in December 1999 when a Kevin Phillips brace steered Sunderland to victory.

Sunderland: Mannone, Bardsley, Alonso, Ki, Brown, O'Shea, Cattermole, Larsson, Johnson, Borini, Altidore

Southampton: Boruc, Chambers, Fonte, Lovren, Shaw, Cork, Schneiderlin, S. Davis, Lallana, Rodriguez, Lambert
