Sunderland not appealing Lee Cattermole red card

Sunderland confirm that they will not appeal Lee Cattermole's red card against Hull City.

Sunderland have confirmed that they will not appeal against the red card that Lee Cattermole was shown against Hull City.

The midfielder was sent off during the first half of the Black Cats' 1-0 defeat at the KC Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday.

Sunderland boss Gus Poyet claimed after the match that Cattermole should not have been dismissed by referee Andre Marriner.

However, the North-East club have now decided against trying to get the decision overturned.

Sunderland return to Premier League action on Saturday when they welcome Southampton to the Stadium of Light.
