Erik Pieters pens new three-year Stoke City contract extension

Erik Pieters signs a new contract with Stoke City, committing himself to the Potters until the summer of 2020.

Stoke City confirmed this morning ahead of their lunchtime Premier League game against Manchester United that defender Erik Pieters has signed a new contract with the club until 2020.

The 27-year-old left-back has extended his previous deal by three years to commit his long-term future to the Potters.

"I can look forward to a bright future here now," he told the club website. "I love being here, I have enjoyed it from the moment I first arrived here and I think we will only continue to grow stronger together."

Pieters joined Stoke from PSV Eindhoven in the summer of 2013 and has gone on to make 91 appearances for them.
