Ibrahim Afellay suspension reduced to two games

Stoke City confirm that Ibrahim Afellay's suspension for his red card against West Bromwich Albion has been reduced from three games to two.

Stoke City have confirmed that Ibrahim Afellay's suspension has been reduced from three games to two.

The Dutch midfielder was sent off following a clash with Craig Gardner in Saturday's home match against West Bromwich Albion.

Afellay was expected to miss Stoke's next three games, but the Potters appealed the initial three-game ban and this has been upheld by the Football Association.

His teammate Charlie Adam, who was also sent off against West Brom, must serve a three-match ban.

Afellay will miss the game against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on September 12 and the home clash against Leicester City a week later.
