St Mirren boss Gary Teale: 'Premiership survival nigh on impossible'

St Mirren boss Gary Teale concedes that his side are likely to be relegated to the Scottish Championship.

St Mirren manager Gary Teale has admitted that his side are almost certain to be relegated from the Scottish Premiership following their 5-0 loss to Motherwell.

Although the Buddies' fate is not yet sealed, their coach believes that the writing is already on the wall.

"Mathematically we're still in with a shout," Teale told BBC Sport.

"But on the performances and the goals we're conceding, added to the fact we've not really got a goal-scoring threat, it's going to be nigh on impossible to get out of it."

The result leaves St Mirren 10 points adrift of Motherwell at the bottom of the league.
