Tottenham will attempt to bolster their attacking options with a summer move for Aston Villa forward Christian Benteke, according to reports.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly plotting a summer move for Aston Villa frontman Christian Benteke.

The Belgian international has impressed in a struggling Villa side this season, scoring 11 goals in his debut Premier League season.

With Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor currently the only recognised forwards in his squad, Spurs manager Andre Villas Boas is targeting striking reinforcements at the end of the season.

The White Hart Lane outfit failed with a January offer for Internacional's Leandro Damiao and are now looking at other options.

Despite Villa's high valuation of Benteke, Spurs have turned to the 22-year-old as an alternative and will launch a summer bid, according to The Mirror.
