Mauricio Pochettino "happy" with Roberto Soldado

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino insists that Roberto Soldado remains in his plans amid speculation over the striker's future.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has insisted that he is happy with Roberto Soldado amid speculation over the striker's future.

It was recently reported that Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen are considering a move for the Spaniard.

The 29-year-old has scored 15 goals in 61 games since he joined Spurs from Valencia in summer 2013.

Despite his struggles to make an impact on the side, Pochettino has suggested that Soldado will remain at White Hart Lane by claiming that he is an important part of his plans.

"I am happy with Soldado," he is quoted as saying by Goal.com. "I expect him to be here; we have four competitions to play in and we need a strong squad.

"All players are in my plans. I expect all players to be here. We have a lot of games. We are still in four competitions. I think we need a strong squad to take all the games we have in the future."

Spurs return to action tomorrow night when they host Sheffield United in the first leg of their League Cup semi-final.
