Barcelona defender Gerard Pique admits that the club are interesting in signing Gareth Bale from Tottenham Hotspur.

Barcelona defender Gerard Pique has admitted that the club would be interested in Gareth Bale.

The Tottenham Hotspur winger is in impressive form in the Premier League scoring 10 goals in his last nine games for the club, and Pique has said that Barca are definitely taking note of the Welshman's exploits for Spurs.

"Now he's at Tottenham and he's doing a great job and we will see [if he will join]," Pique told BBC Sport. "We want to have all the best players in our team.

"I think he's an unbelievable player, he's a great player. He has all of the conditions to play in the team that he wants to. I always think that the best players can fit in any team, no matter the style of the team.

"It's true I think that the style of play of Real Madrid maybe - because he's really quick, the power he's got - maybe he can fit a little bit more [at Madrid]. But he can play here definitely too. I cannot see any problem that he cannot play [for Barcelona]."

Bale is the top scorer for Spurs this season with 16 Premier League goals.
