Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed that defender Kyle Walker has undergone surgery to rectify an abdominal problem.
The injury forced the England international to miss the World Cup earlier this summer, and Spurs made the decision to send the right-back for an operation.
Walker was also forced to sit out the final 10 games of last season, while no return date has yet been given.
"Kyle Walker has undergone lower abdominal surgery," a statement on the club's official website read. "The England right-back's pre-season preparations were disrupted by the abdominal injury and the decision to have surgery was taken following further medical assessment by specialists."
The North London outfit signed Walker from Sheffield United in 2009.
