Tottenham Hotspur eye title after spending spree?

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly expecting a title challenge after spending £100m on players so far this summer.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly aiming to challenge for the Premier League title this season after a £100m spending spree.

Spurs have brought in the likes of Paulinho, Roberto Soldado and Erik Lamela, breaking their transfer record on each occasion.

According to The Mirror, the club's hierarchy will not be satisfied with Champions League qualification and want to challenge even further up the league.

Spurs are expected to lose Gareth Bale for a world record transfer fee before Monday's deadline, and that will help ease the financial strain of their recent spree.

Despite losing their best player, the pressure will be on manager Andre Villas-Boas to deliver a trophy this season.

Spurs face Arsenal in the North London derby tomorrow afternoon.
