Everton boss Roberto Martinez: 'Tottenham Hotspur are dangerous'

Everton manager Roberto Martinez believes that his side will face a "dangerous team" when they take on Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez believes that his team will face a tough contest when they go up against "dangerous" Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Both sides, who have just one point separating them in the Premier League table, are fighting for a Champions League spot.

Martinez moved to Goodison Park in the summer to replace David Moyes, while Spurs head coach Tim Sherwood has been controlling proceedings at White Hart Lane since December.

"They're a dangerous team because under Tim Sherwood this has been developing and we haven't seen the best image yet and that's something we hope we can stop," Martinez said in a press conference.

"It's a learning curve for anyone. When you arrive into a dressing room you need to get to know the players, the partnerships and the way of playing. You look at the results they've had and it shows you this team is getting better and stronger and they haven't peaked.

"People forget how strong their squad is and you know that if this team clicks it will be as good as it gets in this league. We can't let them enjoy their football."

Everton sit fifth in the standings, while Tottenham reside one place below in sixth.
