Giovani Dos Santos “angry” at Harry Redknapp for blocking Sevilla move

Tottenham midfielder Giovani dos Santos admits that he is "angry" at the club for stopping his move to Sevilla.

Tottenham midfielder Giovani dos Santos has admitted that he was “surprised” boss Harry Redknapp changed his mind about a desired move to Spanish outfit Sevilla.

The 22-year-old, who has become out of favour at White Hart Lane, was on the verge of making a switch to the Primera Liga until Redknapp blocked the move.

"I was very surprised that with two hours left, my coach has changed his mind," Santos told Fox Sports.

"In three years at Tottenham I have not been taken into account and there has not been confidence in me at all. So I hope that this time I hear the truth when talking to him and we can get down to football.

"To be honest I already felt at another club, Sevilla, and we had already completed more than 50% of negotiations. Almost everything had been agreed but with half an hour to go Spurs changed their minds, something I found very odd.”

The Mexico international revealed that he was left reeling after the Premier League side refused to let him leave.

"Both myself and my agent have been left disappointed, sad and angry at the way Tottenham have acted,” he added.

Reports suggested that the midfielder was the interest of a number of Spanish clubs during the transfer window.
