Dele Alli pleased with first home goal

Dele Alli says that it meant a lot for him to score his first goal at White Hart Lane for Tottenham Hotspur during their 3-1 win over Aston Villa.

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has expressed his delight at scoring his first goal at White Hart Lane.

The 19-year-old fired in the second of his side's goals in their 3-1 win over Aston Villa this evening, to help extend their unbeaten run to 10 games.

It was his second goal for Spurs following his move from MK Dons, and he was quick to pay tribute to everyone involved at the club for helping him to settle quickly in North London.

"It definitely means a lot," BBC Sport quotes him as saying. "The fans have been great, and the players and staff have helped me settle in. So this is for them.

"I've still got a lot to learn and Jan [Vertonghen] is usually one of the first to tell me where I need to improve! It is great to have leaders like that around. It has made it easier to come here and show what I can do."

Alli made his debut for England during their 2-0 victory over Estonia last month.
