Harry Kane 'fears lengthy layoff with hamstring injury'

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is concerned that he could face a long spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury, according to a report.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is reportedly concerned that he could face a long spell on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

The England forward hobbled off after 75 minutes of Spurs' 1-0 defeat to Southampton on Wednesday and he left St Mary's on crutches.

It is believed that while Kane underwent some initial tests on Thursday, he will have a scan on Friday that should provide a definite diagnosis on the scale of his problem.

The Daily Mail reports that the 26-year-old is concerned that he may have suffered a grade two strain, which would rule him out for eight weeks during one of the club's most important periods of the season.

If Kane has only suffered a grade one strain, he will be out of action for just three weeks, enabling him to be back in the first team by the time Jose Mourinho's side resume their Champions League campaign in February.

The North London club have no real like-for-like replacement for Kane in their team, unless they opt to start young Irish forward Troy Parrott or ask Son Heung-min to deputise in his absence.
